Mea Culpa?

When a believer commits a sin, they offer a "Mea Culpa" to God and their fellow believers, accepting the responsibility publicly, knowing the first step toward redemption is acceptance of having done wrong. After countless, tragic failures, where is the Mea Culpa coming from "mainstream Democrats" who keep voting for the same failures, never once accepting fault?
